I've tried a couple of things:
1. Remove the Nvidia graphics card drivers - same issue
2. Remove Open Office and re-install using:
yum install openoffice.org-writer openoffice.org-calc
I'd guess that this isn't affecting everyone with Fedora 8 so there's something
in my configuration that's causing the problem - I have a very standard install
though - everything installed via yum. The only non-standard package was the
Nvidia drivers (installed from Livna) but now they're removed and I'm getting
the same problem.
