------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Feb 18 01:00:50 +0000 2008 ------- Repro: 1. Open Firefox 2.0.0.12 from Windows XP SP2 + all current critical security fixes. 2. Browse to http://www.mindjet.com/us/devzone/7/mm7_object_model/Page786.html#group___properties_1g6d58c2c5646c1846a2125ca2606c7143 3. Click anywhere on the page (to ensure the selection focus is on the displayed text). 4. Press [Ctrl]-A to "Select All" text, graphics etc. from the page. 5. Press [Ctrl]-C to Copy all of the selected elements. 6. Open Writer 2.3.1 to a blank document, and click somewhere inside the blank document (to ensure the selection focus is in the editing surface). 7. Press [Ctrl]-V to Paste the contents of the Clipboard into the editing surface of the blank document. Expected behaviour: Writer would display some form of the web page contents in the editing surface of that new document. [I'm not expecting a full-fidelity representation of the page contents, but at least a starting place to be able to use the text and perhaps some of the table layouts.] Actual behaviour: Writer crashes, and indicates that it'll save the contents of "Untitled1" for Recovery next time I launch Writer. This repro's every time. Note: the "untitled_*.odt" files that Writer stores in %APPDATA%\OpenOffice.org2\user\backup are all 0 KB in size, have *NO* content whatsoever. NOTE: unlike Issue 77359 (http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=77359), when I tried the exact same steps using today's version of http://www.crooksandliars.com/, Writer was able to successfully Import the contents of the Clipboard and render a version of the Crooks and Liars home page. [I didn't say it's a *faithful* representation of the home page, but it's a successful Import - at least when compared to the attempted Import of the page reported in this Issue.] NOTE: also unlike Issue 75587 (http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=75587), I was able to perform the same Repro steps using the noted Sun Training page and complete a successful Import. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
