In MS Word this will only work, when the "dummy paragraphs" right of the table
are also selected. When only the table is selected, using the alignment buttons
will also only apply to the text in the table.
Such "dummy paragraph" next to the table would be needed in Writer, to grant the
same (or even similar) functionality.
Currently this can onl be solved via the "Table properties" dialog.
