At the first launch, OOo freezes on the last step on the setup (register user). After a violent kill (-9), OOo freezes on Tools->Options->Java. Environement : ---------------------------------------------- - Ubuntu Edgy - sun-java5-jre, sun-java5-jre - OpenOffice 2.2.3 French Deb Version from fr.openoffice.org - User account From an LDAP directory - home mounted through nfs Different Test ------------------------------------- I've done some test to track the bug/problem : - Delete .kde directory from my home => nothing change - Create a local user account (no nfs home, no ldap auth) => Well OOo works great without freeze - Try with the root account (sudo bash ; openoffice2.3) => works perfectly without freezes - try with a fresh new user account in the ldap => OOo freezes ... - try with "UNO_JAVA_JFW_JREHOME=file:///usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun/jre/ /opt/openoffice.org2.3/program/soffice" => well OOo didn't freeze but I can't hava java ...
