Writer has easy palettes for easily adding all kinds of unusual (smiley face?)
shapes to a document, but one of the most common shapes still requires twice as
many steps: a simple line with an arrow head.

MS Word has this feature built-in, and users miss it coming to OOo.

This exact function (actually more flexible than found in Word) is already
present in the Drawing toolbar found in the Draw application. Impress has a
simpler arrow item that could also serve. Unfortunately, neither of these can be
added to Writer's toolbar through Tools > Customize.

Would it be possible to add the line palette found in Draw to Writer's Drawing
toolbar?

This is similar to Issue 33973, which being more general and focused on OOo 1.x
is now rather out of date.
