2008 -------
The problem was that ure/source/startup.sh:1.2, symlinked as
/opt/openoffice.org/ure/bin/uno in the installset, does not pass on -env args to
the javaldx it calls, (and uno is called indirectly via unopkg during
installation, with -env args that ensure that no javasettings.xml is written
into any user installation data).
