------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Mar 13 11:23:46 +0000 2008 ------- any development on this issue? i've been using MS again in the office and noticed how they were able to capture what i think is a good solution to this. i MS, when a numbered list is inserted, a small icon appears allowing users to either restart numbering or continue the previous numbered list. i think this would be a good solution to this issue, such that: 1. user creates a numbered (1.) entry on level 1 2. user creates a bulleted entry and/or unnumbered entry 3. user continues numbered list (presses F12 on level 1), but OOo asks whether the user wants to continue the previous numbered entry OR restart the numbering. like i mentioned in the previous entry, this is possible by using a numbering style. When a numbering style is used, the numbered list continues from where it was left. As i said, i assigned the hotkey Shift+Ctrl+F12 to Numbered list 1. So if the last numbered entry on level 1 is at "4." and the last numbered entry on level 2 is at "7.", pressing the hotkey at level 1 inserts a numbered entry beginning at "5.", and "8." when pressed on level 2, and so on. this is effective even if bullets and unnumbered entries are inserted between numbered lists. the quickest solution that makes sense to me is to assign a numbering style by default when pressing F12 (which is Numbering On/Off). By the way, when pressing F12, what numbering style does it use? if it does anyway. one problem i encountered though is that pressing the hotkey on level 2, takes you back to level 1, but it still continue the previous numbered list. so you'd have to press TAB to start a new numbered list on level 2... it does not however, fail to continue a previous numbered list, once a style is used. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
