------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Mar 13 14:14:04 +0000 2008 ------- Hi all, If you open a document containing DDE links to other OOo docs, the "sub docs" are opened (quite normal, as it will update the DDE links). But when you close the first document (ie the main document), all sub-documents are still opened hidden by OpenOffice. This has been observed using a windows sharing server, but should the problem should remain in local. How to reproduce the bug : -Create two (or more) files on a distant windows sharing server, call them main.ods, sub1.ods (and so on). Add some datas to the sub files, and create a DDE link from the main doc to the sub docs (copy/paste special, check link). -Close all docs and check which shared files are opened (use windows console tool for viewing it in "manage computer"). None of the files should be open. -Open main.ods and update links. After refresh, the console should tell that main and sub docs are open rw. -Close main.ods in openoffice (using the red top-right cross). Check/refresh again the console, the sub docs are still open rw. When using local documents, this isn't a problem, as you're the only one using them and you'll be able to open them (with an interface this time) without problem. But when the files are shared, this problem prevents other users to open the sub docs even when you're done with the main doc (they're opened "read-only"). This behaviour has been tested with OOo 2.3.0,2.3.1, 2.4.0 RC1 and 2.4.0 RC3 under Windows XP and file server Windows 2003 Server. Using Writer or Calc doesn't matter, the problem is the same. Note : if you quit OOo (File -> Quit) or if you kill soffice.bin, the files are released. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
