Thanks for your response. I was thinking it would be nice if, only when the
superscript was generated by an "insert footnote" or an "insert endnote," the
superscript wouldn't continue automatically beyond the footnote or endnote
reference. If the character formatting were initiated by a user command for
superscript or subscript then it would continue beyond the first character. The
change would be to the insert footnote/endnote command rather than the
superscript or subscript commands themselves, I imagine.
