I die a quick test with "2.4 RC5 Multilingual German version WIN XP:
[680m11(Build9283)]" / FontOOo Version 1.7 and can not confirm a crash. But of
course, I did not test all possible situations, may be, if the internet
connection disappears at an other moment, a crash will appear.

can you please contribute some more details (for example a description at what
step your internet connection was interrupted)?
