I'm afraid you don't need any file to show the problem. Some more timings (all
in seconds)
using no file:
1. With OOO window open, but no applications active, do File|New|Text Document
1.1.3: 7
1.9.79: 60
2. With OOO window open, but no applications active, do File|New|Spreadsheet
1.1.3: 2
1.9.79: 50
3. In a new Spreadsheet windows, right click on a cell and select "Format Cells"
1.1.3: < 1
1.9.79: 40
Also, whenver 1.9.79 is doing any of these quite unusably slow things, the
entire
dual-processor machine is buried. Attempts to, for instance, look at the task
manager are hampered because it doesn't get enough CPU cycles (I assume) to even
draw its own window!
