------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Mar 18 13:54:25 +0000 2008 ------- I've been watching this issue for a long time now and I find it almost laughable the way it's being debated so heatedly now. But I just had to put in my two bits. My take on the matter is why limit the functionality? If even some people want to be able to set the DPI, put in a place to do it, and why limit it? Obviously there has to be some limit, but why not make it absurdly high? (discoleo mentioned Corel Draw, it allows the user to select up to 10,000 DPI, as well as your choice of measure measurements and why not? See last Attachment.) Chances are there won't be anyone wanting that high of a resolution, but that means that hopefully no one will wish it had more. If there is a need to educate people on what settings should "normally" be used, add a nice help page to go along with it indicating typical setting for various cases. I personally have worked with people that have to send graphics to be printed as well as use them on the web. DPI is a big deal. (By the way there are Ink Jet Printers out there that boast a 2400 DPI resolution, perhaps this is not realistic, I don't pretend to know, but I can assure you there are users out there that will want there image to have that high of a resolution as well) So all I'm saying is leave options. I'm not a serious user myself, and I will typically only play with export setting a little, but I hate being restricted to the "normal" settings, it makes me feel like I'm using a restricted or cheap program. Open Office is used by a lot of people for a lot of things, and right now Draw is one of the most disappointing parts of it in my opinion. And frankly this issue is one of the bigger problems. So lets get it fixed and please don't limit it to "normal" settings, there is no reason for it. People like to have control. I also REALLY like the idea of being able to export "selected" I use it all the time in Corel Draw. It's a very handy feature that saves a lot of time. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
