I can confirm it. It doesn't work with all files created with OpenOffice.org.
IMO this isn't the way to insert data from a database but data from a *.txt or
*.csv or similar.
I insert data from a database to calc please use F4 to see the table or query
data.
So I think it works as designed.
Then the issue would be invalid
