this is necessary: we must generate a preview bitmap from the ps file as OOo
can't render the file itself. No idea how this relates to the defunct processes.
As cmc was the one who introduced pstoedit, I cc: him. Maybe he has something to
say about the problem.
As this problem isn't urgent and we still need more information I think that
target 3.x is more appropriate than 3.0.
