jsc: just to give a comment from my perspective. Extensions generated with our
NB plugin have build scripts that require the newer ant version. It make sense
to include these NB projects in the normal build to benefit from the
localization environment. The usage of the NB plugin simplifies the development
of Java extensions a lot and speed up the development. I expect more and more
of these extensions and i would recommend to increase the ant to 1.7.0 in
general.
The addressed problem under Mac OS have to be addressed separately. For other
platforms i don't see a real problem or did i miss something?
The advantage of keeping the NB projects unchanged and add some special targets
to allow building in the OO.org build environment is that people can do the
development work on the extension inside NB without a complete build env. This
is a huge advantage to help new developers to get started. The nice debug
feature is one more.
