Reopening.
I tried a clean install on WinXPPro with BEA300_m1, uninstalling DEV300_10 and
deleting the directories. (2.4 untouched)
Just after the installation of the en_us-Version I tried the german language
pack.
It was only possible to install in the way Rainer described in his first report
here, after a directory-change and going back to "c:\programme"
