I trust that the latter are not marked as Arabic or Farsi characters in .doc files. B. My comment was wrong: The current spec will not cause Farsi numerals to turn into Hindi, but into Arabic (western) numerals. I suspect that would be sub-optimal too, though I'm not a Farsi user.
