2008 -------
I am using OpenOffice 2.4.0.3.5-1.1
running on SUSE 10.3 and Ubuntu

I need Impress to open up and close as a slide show and not in the edit mode
where I have to start it manually. I know about the command line
option to do this. Namely: soffice -impress -show "$@"
adding the show option. However, it flashes for a moment
in the edit mode and then goes on as I would like it.

However, upon close of the presentation I am back in the
edit mode and it always tells me that the slide has been modified
(which it hasn't) and asks me if I want to save the changes.

This did not happen with earlier versions of OpenOffice.

I have read the forums but there is a lot of words and no solutions
that I could find to date.

If anyone has substantive comments I would like to hear from you.
Otherwise, I think this needs to be fixed to allow slide shows to
appear professional to an audiance and to make for a more pleasant
user experience.

Cheers,
Bob
