2005 -------
I have several fonts in a texmf conforming tree, and want to *link* the afm/pfb
files into /usr/local/share/fonts/typ1/.
But Ooo does not recognize these fonts WHEN THEY ARE LINKS! As far as I can
check the policy of OOo is as follows:
- follow the link of the pfb file and find its *real* location (=$loc)
- search for $loc/foobar.afm and $loc/afm/foobar.afm
But it seems *not* to search for $orig/foobar.afm
(I hope I am clear enough)
I think that this is (at best) a bit unusual, to be honest, I would say very
disturbing and really puzzled me until I found out.

Best wishes and thanks for the great help/support and product!

Norbert
