Andreas, as the "300" vs. "680" breaks usage expectations anyway, I suggest to
just remove this function, as suggested by Brinzing. If too many start
complaining, we may go to find another solution later on. I also would refrain
from adding similar functions, e.g. regarding the base layer ID etc., until
there is proven demand.
