This would have made the problem mute in the first place. - the Base application offers a solution to support required fields with automatic update triggers. However that is not the same as saying it is the best solution. For example it would be a great enhancement if one could designate at a result set level which columns should be updated and which should be read only. Currently thought the setting is global to the odb file. Opening such a request for enhancement would not, as I see it, be invalid.
