------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon May 5 04:18:39 +0000 2008 ------- 1. Create a OO Writer document, save it. 2. Edit it some more, so that it's unsaved. 3. Kill OpenOffice (like if your computer lost power suddenly) 4. Double-click on the saved document's icon. Result: The older (saved) version of the document is opened as if nothing is wrong, *and* in addition, a "Recover Document" window is opened. However, the recover-document window is opened *behind* the open (old) file, so that you can't see it and don't realize it's there. You can edit your document for hours, not even knowing that your most-recent changes weren't saved or recovered, due to the hidden window. If you discover the recovery window and use it, then you end up with *two* copies of your document open -- the one you've been editing (because you didn't realize it needed recovery since the recovery window was hidden), and the one that OO just recovered, which has all of the changes you made before OO was killed. The recovery window, and the entire recovery process, should *always* require that the user select whether to recover or not, before any other document can be opened, particularly when the document being recovered is the very document that the user is trying to open. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
