OOo is a very complex application. Sometimes a patch does not address all facets and problems and either omitted important details, creates new bugs etc. Don't misunderstand me: we will try to do our very best to get all patches integrated we get (see e.g. http://blogs.sun.com/GullFOSS/entry/patch_integration). I just wanted to point out that getting patches does not mean that you always save a lot of time. Especially bigger features (like this one) usually aren't done in patches and if they are done we still need several weeks of work to get them integrated.
