2008 -------
I had a 25+ page write document that was saved in .odt format. It was a bit
over 3 MB. I cut a .bmp image from paint and pasted it into the document where
it filled the page width. I then scaled it down to about half the page width.
Then I cut another .bmp image from paint and pasted it at same anchor point and
proceeded to also scale it down and fit it so the 2 images were side by side.

Then I scanned down my document and realized some other previous figures
(objects) were missing and where they were supposed to be they were marked as
read error. So I went back to an older file version, copied the object out and
replaced it. But then another object that was there suddenly disappeared to be
replaced by read error.

Eventually I broke up my file into several files as a backup measure and then
reconstructed where I had been when I started. It appeared to happen when I
resized the original .bmp to a smaller size. When I went to a separate file,
pasted and resized the .bmp and then did the same for the second one I was OK
as they were the only 2 objects. I then copied them out and pasted them in my
reconstructed "original" file. Then things were OK. Resizing a large (over a
megabyte) .bmp object in a file that has many similar objects seems to blow the
edit function's mind.

Sorry, no file examples this time as the file contents can't be released
outside of company.
