------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat May 24 17:43:00 +0000 2008 ------- This was an issue at my office, so I'm afraid some of the details are going to have to wait until Tuesday. From memory, I can tell you this: There were two machines involved in my experience. One was an amd64 with 32-bit XP connected directly to an HP printer (don't remember exact model or driver version). The other machine was a P4 with 32-bit Ubuntu 7.10 and with CUPS connect via SMB to the HP printer on first machine. I realized shortly after I posted this issue that I should have tested on other OOo components. I will get you the missing details on Tuesday. @rainerbielefeld: You and I are in agreement, I think, that it is best if "the printer uses the document settings as the current behaviour works". Though, I don't understand what you're implying when you say you "doubt that printer settings should be taken over by OOo". The current behavior is for the printer to use the document settings, and for the program to ignore the printer settings (at least the Landscape option). What I am asking for is an acknowledgment from the program to the user that this is intended behavior along with a pointer to the correct place to change the setting. This is simply to prevent them from scratching themselves bald before resorting to Google to figure out why they can't print the damn thing in landscape mode... as I did. Again, more details will follow on Tuesday.
