I've not been able to reproduce the problem with a recent build - both python
and BeanShell "Capitalize" work as expected.
However, these scripts are merely intended as a sample for would-be programmers
to get started, they are not intended for real world usage.
When using a recent version of the office you can right click on a selected text
and select "Case/Characters..." and choose "Uppercase" or Lowercase.
Of course you can also put this on your favorite keyboard shortcut via
Tools/Customize>Keyboard, choose "Format" from the categories list and then
Uppercase in the list to the right.
