------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Jun 3 18:26:36 +0000 2008 ------- An Excel 5.0 .XLS file with Column A formated as a date field that also includes several rows of text preceeding dates (e.g: 3/1/2008) requested mm/dd/yy shows up as ### instead. This can be fixed by confining the range for dates to the portion of the column where dates are actually entered (3/1/2008) by first setting dates to mm/dd/yyyy, then to mm/dd/yy - or something like that. When re-saved as an 5.0 XLS file, the resulting file imports perfectly into Excel 5. Excel 5.0 is smart enough to find and reformat only the mm/dd/yyyy to mm/dd/yy dates and ignore text that appears in the date-formatted column. OO trips over the text. Hovering over the ### that OO reports shows the date (3/1/2008), but does not report mm/dd/yy, only ###.
