------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Jun 4 00:11:47 +0000 2008 ------- Running WinXPSP3. Had installed OOo 2.2, 2.3, 2.4. Then M$office2003 installed. Removed OOo 2.4 and installed 3.0 beta. Previously created files with extensions of .odt, .ods, .ott, .ots were not recognised as belonging to OOo. Double-clicking on an .odt file prompted std Win request to select programme, but upon drilling down to sWriter, the .exe would NOT appear in the list despite multiple attempts. Tried repairing 3.0 beta, but same results. Removed 3.0 beta, re-installed, but same results. Removed 3.0 beta and re-installed 2.4 and got expected file associations. Installed 3.0 beta -- but 2.4 was still installed and still registered as application associated with OOo files. Tried right-click/Open With/Choose Program to select 3.0 beta's sWriter on .odt file, but as previously, it would not appear in the list. However, subsequently right-click/Open With listed two sWriter entries. Choosing top one produced hourglass that went away with no result; second entry produced hourglass followed by error: 'Windows cannot find 'C:\Documents and Settings\Home\My Document\filename.odt'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.' [single quotes present] Clicked the OK button. Received new error message: C:\Documents does not exist. [no quotes] Clicked the OK button. Received new error message: C:\Documents and Settings\Home\My Documents\and does not exist. [No quotes] Clicked the OK button. Received new error message: C:\Documents and Settings\Home\My Documents\Settings\Home\My does not exist. [No quotes]. Clicked the OK button. Received new error message: C:\Documents and Settings\Home\My Documents\Documents\xxxxx does not exist. [No quotes; 'xxxxx' = first word of filename] Clicked OK button. Received new error message: C:\Documents and Settings\Home\My Documents\xx does not exist. [No quotes; 'xx' = second word of filename] Clicked OK button. Received new error message: C:\Documents and Settings\Home\My Documents\xxxxxxxxxxx does not exist [No quotes; 'xxxxxxxxxxx' = third word of filename]. This continued until all words in filename had been included in error messages (last word in filename had .odt appended). File then opened in sWriter 2.4 Presently, right-click/Open With and top sWriter entry opens .odt file in sWriter 2.4 without error, but right-click/Open With and second sWriter entry produces error messages listed above, the OOo splash screen briefly, and then nothing. Don't know what else I can add. Can install/re-install/uninstall on this unit to help determine problem. Willing to answer any questions I can.
