There seems to be demand to manually deactivate the StartCenter. Rationale: People may open OpenOffice.org to run their user defined dialogs. In such a case, the StartCenter may be distracting. Another scenario is the use in corporate environments and the potential wish of administrators to deactivate it (for whatever reason). FL proposed the following implementation: "configuration entry to turn off start-center [...] No GUI, just a new config item.
