Through an experiment conducted to study behavior of Word 97/98 Japanese,
the followings are observed:
(a) If fFarEast is set to true and lidFE is set to one of the far east
Asian languages,
Word 97/98 Japanese recognizes a value of compatibility option
"expand character spaces on the line ending SHIFT+RETURN."
(b) If fFarEast is set to false,
Word 97/98 Japanese disregards a value of the compatibility option
and behaves as Word 97/98 English. Consequently, characters in a line
ending with shift+return are unexpectedly distributed within the
margine regardless of the value of the compatibility option.
What we have leaned:
It would be better if a WW8 export filter assigned both fFarEast and lidFE
to an appropriate value.
