2008 -------
Applied the uncontroversial parts of the patch to CWS vcl90.
The parts that may cause problems are left out for now: Writer and EditEngine
want/need to control the logical widths of codepoints and the flag which
enables/disables punctuation compression themselves. VCL is not supposed to
ignore
these requests from the application layers.
If Writer and EditEngine should be changed to default to punctuation
compression, then
this is a different story and should be handled in a different issue for the
"sw" project.
