http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Category%3ALogging now contains a link
to an extension which will install the Basic code in your OOo, which should make
it easier to enable logging (and yes, doing the setLogLevel call is the only
thing one needs to do, plus (possibly) a restart.
Also, note we've been contacted by IBM, and they've provided us with a virtual
machine running an UniVerse installation.
Debugging the problem revealed that the problem is caused by an inconsistency in
the driver: DatabaseMetaData.supportsResultSetConcurrency claims to support
result sets of type SCROLL_SENSITIVE (which is 1005), whereas when you try to
create such a statement, an exception is thrown that 1005 is not supported.
So, by my current knowledge, this is a bug in the current version of IBM's JDBC
driver. I currently wait for feedback from the IBM guys on this.
