If a shape is converted to 3D by turning extrusion on, and then the shape is
subsequently flipped (either vertically or horizontally), the shape becomes
invisible. The same problem occurs if the shape is first flipped, then 
extruded. 

This is important because some shapes are only available in one asymmetrical
variant (eg s-shaped arrow, circular arrow, corner right arrow, etc).
