hi again,
thanks for your response.
however, i'm afraid that this issue has resurfaced in the latest version of
OpenOffice that i've downloaded.
i could not possibly give you instructions on how to recreate the sequence of
events leading to the glitch, because there isn't one. the ONLY things that
happen are as follows:
i OPEN a new untitled document from the Windows programme menu.
i may or may not add some text to the document.
i try to select the SAVE or SAVE AS or OPEN options.
nothing happens, leading to great annoyance as whatever work i have done needs
to be transferred to another word processing programme. then i need to restart
the computer. sometimes this fixes the problem; sometimes it doesn't.
the fact that you have closed this issue because it 'works for you' isn't very
helpful really.
