------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Jul 29 10:43:21 +0000 2008 ------- Original summary: Improve Impress text selection and editing While creating templates with Impress (template = pre-formated slides with title and text zone that have to be filled by another user), a lot of text zones are empty. Actually, the user interface to enter and edit a text objet is not very user- friendly. Ways I found: - clic and drag a selection rectangle larger than text zone to select text object, than press F2 - clic just on the rectangle line of the text zone, then press F2. When the text object contains text, it is also possible to clic on the text --> Impress automatically goes on text edition, and it's quite user-friendly! My suggestions: 1. allow enter in text edition when user clics inside text object what ever the text object contains text or not. Cool for simple slides with no overlapping text objects. 2. Alternative to ensure better UI when a lot of overlapping object are in a slide could be: select object on clic inside object rectangle, front object first, second overlapping object on 2nd clic at the same point, and so on... to select in depth layers from one clic point (or zone if very little mouse move from one clic to 2nd or 3rd clic). Then, press F2 to edit text if text object. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
