------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Aug 4 13:14:32 +0000 2008 ------- How to reproduce the bug: (1) Open bug-1.odp; Click Outline Tab; Move cursor to the end of Slide 1 (at the tail of "Me") (2) Press Delete (2) Now Slide 2 is merged into Slide 1, and Fig 1 (Apple) is LOST!!! AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!! or (1) Open bug-1-title.odt; select "New Title" and copy it to clipboard (2) Open bug-1.odp; select "Title" on Slide 1; paste clipboard as unformatted text (3) Click Outline Tab; "Oops, a new slide has been created? Well, delete it." Press Backspace (4) Now Fig 1 (Apple) is magically LOST!!! AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!! It happens to me many times, many ways. This is the kind of critical bug that should NEVER happen in the production stage of software. The basic problem is that all inserted/pasted materials (except for outline) in each slide are invisible (not listed), but can still be edited in Outline View. This causes a lot of confusion and is error-prone. I strongly suggest that EVERY material in each slide should be visible, listed together with outline texts in Outline View, like this: Slide 1 Title * This is it * This is good <Image pasted> <Image inserted: C:\myfigs\fig1.jpg> Slide 2 Title ... This will give us more comfort when we are dealing with Outline. It is what Outline is meant to be (a bird-eye view of everything in the presentation), and the way it was in the splendid old presentation program ASAP WordPower.
