------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Aug 5 11:09:25 +0000 2008 ------- Please reopen the bug. (I'll write, what happens and what I expect): preconditions: - writer running in linux (Gnome), a document is open - I open another document via file-manager (krusader, by choosing and enter or by mouse-clicking ) what happens: - OO opens the document and shows it on the screnn in foreground, but the app is not focused (titlebar only gray, not blue for usual configuration) (problem: one thinks, the window which is displayed is focused too, klick e.g. Ctrl+Pos1 but in OO nothing happens, only krusader goes to the hoome-directory, which is ennoying! One always first has to focus by Alt+Tab or mouse-clicking.) what should happen: either (possibility1 - only second quality): - the opened document should appear in foreground AND focused (possible problem - if one continues working while oo is loading the file (if it takes longer time on slower machines), at one certain moment focus jumps to the new opening window - so the input one thinks to bring to filemanager (krusader) or another app, one switched to in between, goes from this moment on to oo, which can be of bad consequences - This problem do have many apps. But is for me better, than the current behavior) or (possibility2 - first class solution): - the opened document should appear in the background (so nobody will be confused, one can find it later by Alt+Tab) If this is a gnome-bug and you know the solution, please let me (and everyone) know here. But - maybe it's not (only) gnome-bug: if there is oo running but no file opened, then the opened document comes to foreground and IS focused! see issue 78655 too --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
