I've got a .doc file which I opened in OOWriter, then added a note
and pressed the Author button in the Note dialog to add my name to
the note. When the .doc was then exported to xml(xsl) file, the
resulting xml file had an xml comment with an embedded -- which
firefox couldn't parse:

XML Parsing Error: not well-formed
Location: file:///home/evansl/temp/notes-author-doc-bug.xml
Line Number 25, Column 14:      <!-- ---- LJE, 08/12/2008, 21:19 ---- -->
                          -------------^
Since _Professional XML_, 2000, on page 52 says comment text can
be any "string that doesn't include the "--" string literal
(this restriction is for SGML compatibility).", I guess OOWriter
is wrong in doing this. Maybe delimiting the author with **** instead
would solve the problem.

I would attach example input and export files, but there's not
way to do that, AFAICT.
