Unicode characters are mis-displayed, such that all characters appear as the
same glyph (i.e. 'abcde' might appear as '11111'). Results in OpenOffice 3.0.0
Beta being virtually unusable for Unicode text for some character sets. Occurs
independent of font (assuming the font supports the Unicode range in use). Does
not affect all Unicode ranges equally. Affects the 'Runic' characters very
strongly (U+16A0 - U+16F0) - see attached document and screenshots. Also affects
Russian Unicode text in certain cases: For example, when using a large font size
(i.e. greater than approx. 32pt) and zooming in close, the text disappears
(probably because the falsely displayed glyph happens to be a space). Did not
explicitly test other Unicode ranges.

Affects: OpenOffice.org 3.0.0 Beta (Writer, Calc, Draw, and Impress) on FreeBSD
systems. Probably affects Linux systems and other users of X Windows. Does not
affect Windows XP. Problem was not present in OpenOffice.org 2.x.

Attached .zip file contains: Two True Type fonts which support the 'Runic'
Unicode range (U+16A0 - U+16F0), an example document, and two screenshots of the
example document. The example document requires that the attached fonts be
installed on the system (or you may experiment with another True Type font which
supports the aforementioned Unicode range, if available). The document contains
two examples, each using a different font. Both runic and non-runic characters
are typed in the same font, but only the runic characters are corrupted. In OOo
3.0.0 Beta, the mis-displayed text changes appearance if you (1) zoom in/out or
(2) change the font size. In OOo 2.4, the text is correctly displayed all tested
font sizes and zoom-levels. The first screenshot is of OpenOffice.org 2.4
correctly displaying the example document at 200% zoom. The second screenshot is
of OpenOffice.org 3.0.0 Beta incorrectly displaying the example document at 200%
zoom. Screenshots were obtained from OpenOffice.org 3.0.0 Beta, BEB300m3
(Build:9328), and the same problem has been observed in at least two earlier
versions of 3.0.0 Beta.
