------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Aug 19 23:35:36 +0000 2008 ------- I am using the OpenOffice.org 2.4.1 suite on a Windows XP (Service Pack 2) Dell Latitude D520 laptop: 2 gig RAM, 80 gig HD. I am using a Dell dock; I am using the VGA port on the dock to drive a second, external monitor. I switch back-and-forth from single- to dual-monitor mode -- not always rebooting after switching modes. I do NOT always leave Writer (the program I'm having an issue with) on the primary nor secondary monitor but move it around as needed (per issue 3428). How to Cause This Issue: 1) run Writer on the secondary monitor 2) change Page Style properties (Format -> Page) 3) close Writer 4) switch to single-monitor mode 5) load Writer again 6) open a document 7) attempt to change Page Style properties (Format -> Page) *8) Page Style dialog box is actually on the second monitor still... 9) [esc] 'hidden' dialog box 10) close Writer 11) switch to dual-monitor mode 12) load Writer again (should be in primary monitor) 13) open document 14) Format->Page *15) the Page Style dialog box is on my second monitor This seems different than Issue 3428 (and it's related issues) in that I have set my system to be single-monitor (that is, the second monitor is disabled in Windows) yet the dialog-box is still, seemingly, in the [non-existent] second-monitor. Not critical, but I have been pretty confused at why Writer seemingly "locks up" when I go to Format->Page!! The biggest problem is that I HAVE to go to dual-monitor mode to drag the dialog box back over to the primary monitor. However, I am not always able to do this as it is a laptop and I travel with it, making it impossible to dual-monitor when I'm on an airplane (for example).
