------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Aug 22 12:05:35 +0000 2008 ------- Table formatting in Writer could benefit from the option to have the table automatically adjust its column widths -- based on cell contents -- dynamically while the user is typing. This behaviour would be the same as for HTML tables being displayed the average web browser, where columns containing cells with a lot of text become proportionally wider automatically, so as to make the table take up the minimum amount of vertical space. The Optimal Column Width function in Writer does not appear to provide for this, as it does not adapt the column widths while the user types, does not appear to ever reduce a column in size if its cell content spans multiple lines already, and does not affect columns other than the one it is called on. (I believe this has been raised in the past, but I wasn't able to find a feature request for it in this system, open, closed or otherwise; if this is a duplicate I apologise.) --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
