That's the problem right there. The user needs to read at least the first 14
pages of a PDF document to change the colour of text. The equation editor syntax
should be used for changing the equation, not the markup.
Just like in the regular window of Writer one can highlight text and select an
appropriate colour, so should the equation editor have this ability. I am
changing the title of this bug to reflect the fact that text formatting is
possible, but not ideal. Thank you for pointing that out, Troodon.
