------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Aug 28 19:25:41 +0000 2008 ------- I'm using OpenOffice 2.2.0 and Excel 2003. I have both open at the same time, and copy and paste from the spreadsheet application (Calc) to Excel. When I have finished and close Excel, then sometimes (but not always) Excel crashes, giving one of those "We have to close. Send or don't send a report to Microsoft" boxes. This seems to happen whether or not I close Calc first. Excel automatically reopens. It gives a list of recovered files. If you open those files, it says they've been repaired, and the repair is always to the Comments (little notes you can attach to cells in a spreadsheet). In the original files (not the duplicate ones Excel creates when it crashes) there's nothing wrong with the Comments. This is a real pain, because Excel will keep crashing and rebooting for each file that has been "repaired". I have submitted this bug before, but when I search the site I can't find any reference to it.
