System Configuration:
HP Pavilion dv6500 Notebook PC
Microsoft Vista Home Premium x86 32-bit Service Pack 1
Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU T7100 @ 1.8 GHz, 2GB DDR2 SDRAM

Open Office version: OOo-Dev 3.0 (build OOO300_m4)

The bug could be replicated in some cases.
Steps for replicating the bug:
1)Open Impress.
2)Create an empty presentation
3)Go to Insert > Object > Sound…
4)Insert the following type of sound files in the slide individually for
testing
–
i)Windows Media Audio file (.wma) – The application crashes in a few seconds

after the sound file is inserted.
ii)MP3 Format sound file (.mp3) – The application does NOT crash. A sound
plug-
in icon is displayed in the middle of the slide but the sound file fails to

play. On going to Slide Show > Custom Animation and then clicking play in
the custom animation dialog, displays a black box in place of the sound plug-in
icon.
iii) Wave Sound file (.wav) – The application does NOT crash. The sound is
played smoothly on the slide.
iv) Music Instrumental Digital Interface file (.midi) – The application
does
NOT crash. The sound file plays smoothly without any hitches.
