SBA: Works fine for me in DevBuild OOO300_m4 and m5 on Windows.
Set to "Worksforme".
Dictionaries work as extensions only in OOo 3.0. So they can only be installed
via Tools-Extension manager. See issue 81365.
The description sounds as if a wrong language was set (Written English is
Spell-checked in French). So please verify if the language you write in is set
to the current text (Status bar shows the language at cursor position resp.
scurrent selection, context menu from language status bar control allows
feasible changes).
SBA->jamesff: Please re-verify your findings in the latest version(s):
http://download.openoffice.org/ - at times, m4 is available. The OOO300_m5 is to
be uploaded soon. All these already VERY CLOSE to the OOo 3.0 Release Candidate.
Please note that you use the dictionareis that come along with the installation
(or download from http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/dictionaries) -
Maybe "older dictionaries of some sources" have had problems that do not show in
current ones anymore.
