Testing hints:
- use a system with a libfontconfig older than version 2.4
- use a system that doesn't have "Liberation Serif" installed anywhere
=> fc-match "Liberation Serif"
usually results in something much different from a Serif font
- try to select the "Liberation Serif" font from the font selection box
=> on the current MWS the font is available, on the CWS the font is no longer
available
also note that on the MWS fontconfig suggests a replacement by a completely
different font
