I'll mark this as a "Task", I think that's a good matching issue type here.
The English is really not so good, but I think better would be:
"First select some text or an object, then click this icon. Then click on or
drag across other text or click an object to apply the same formatting."
Because it is possible to click into a single word to apply the selected
formatting AND drag across a certain amount of text.
