In my office, I use my laptop with an additional screen that extends the desktop
to the right. It's easier to read, so that's where I run most applications.
When the laptop is undocked, Writer comes up on the existing display, which is
fine. However, configuration dialogs (e.g., Tools/Autocorrect) that I invoked
when Writer was running on the other, now missing, screen stick to their
original positions--they're off-screen, application modal, and I have no way to
move them (short of figuring out where the old position is stored, and deleting
it).

In general, modal dialogs should not come up where they were during the previous
run if that location is off-screen.
