2008 -------
My latest attempts involved:
- uninstalling
- removing roving profile files for OO
- rebooting
- verifying no soffice-related processes were running
- installing (on to D-drive)
- rebooting (not requested, just thought I'd try it)
- starting 'Open Office.Org' & going through registration process
- trying to open a writer document; hung then produced the same old error
(separately logged via dialog)
- using quickstart to 'Open From Template' -> Produced VC++ RT error in
soffice.bin ("This application has requested the runtime to terminate in an
unusual way")
