Hm. No progress for 3 quarters - is there _any_ feasible, generally applicable
solution to the "echo when failed" problem? If not, I'd suggest taking the patch
as-is (I, too, prefer the quiet build). For the remote builders like rene, if
the default stays at verbose, this won't harm you at all, and those on a local
shell can surely do a "cd <target dir>; dmake verbose=t" on errors, no?
